John E. Finch, 68, of Monroeville passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 3, 1951 in New London and was a 1970 graduate of South Central High School.
John was employed at the Ford Motor Company, Sandusky Plant for fifteen years, retiring in 2008. Prior to this, he worked for Schwab Machine Shop in Sandusky. John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. His hobbies include camping, riding his motorcycle, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of forty eight years, Elaine (Stang) Finch, whom he married on July 14, 1972; three sons, Michael (Allison Elliott) Finch of Ruther Glen, VA, Kevin (Brandy) Finch, and Jason Finch, both of Monroeville; four grandchildren, Hailey, Kenneth, Kristen, and Austin Finch; two great grandchildren, Cecil and Lena Finch; one brother, James (Emily) Finch of Ashland; two sisters, Betty (Harold) Wright of Sandusky and Deb (Cliff) Jones of Ashland; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Gladys (O'Connor) Finch; one brother, Ray Finch; nephew, Eugene Finch; and brother-in-law, Bob Stang.
Friends may call from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday, August 30, 2020 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Monday, August 31, 2020 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Father Ted Miller will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
