Dorothy L. Farris, 62, Cleveland, and formerly of Sandusky, transitioned quietly into eternal life on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at her residence.
She was born on December 19, 1947 in Summerdale, Alabama to John and Ella (Hunter) Farris, the fifth of eleven children. Dorothy was a 1967 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was employed by General Motors from 1978-1991. She was a very religious woman who shared her love of God with all she met.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughter, Dutchess Farris, grandson, Travius Holloway, and granddaughter, Valencia Holloway, all of Cleveland, OH; siblings, Wilma Farris, Fred Farris, Josephine Gail (Cecil) Roberts, Lillie Mae Farris-Brown, Mary Farris Jones, John (Pricilla) Farris, Ruby (Bobby) Nesbit, Ruth Ann (Dennis) Farris-Fletcher, Walter Farris, and Janice Farris, all of Sandusky; aunt, Eva Reed, Sandusky; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Wanda Jones, Effie Dace, Diane Green, and Josephine Golden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Ben and Amelia Farris; maternal grandmother, Mary "Moma" Pollard; and a host of other family members.
Friends may call on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Pastor Albert Porter will officiate.
