Charlie "Chuck" E. Hand, 87, of Castalia passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.
He was born December 10, 1932 in Huron.
Chuck was employed at the former New Departure-Hyatt, Division of General Motors until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Local 913 UAW. He raised rabbits for many years, selling many of them for 4-H projects. He also enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Maxine (Schenk) Hand; two sons, Kevin (Karen) Hand of Castalia and Eric Hand of Sandusky; two granddaughters, Shelby Seitz of Maryland and Jordan Hand of Sandusky; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie (Lemke) Hand; two sisters, Marie Lang and Lois Petersen; and his brother and best friend, John Hand.
Friends may call from 12:00 pm until time of funeral service at 1:30 pm Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
