Marilyn A. (Brown) Kelley, 89, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday morning, September 30, 2020 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness.
Marilyn was born on February 12, 1931 in Defiance, OH to the late Hugh and Lucille (Warren) Brown.
Marilyn lived a full life and she was greatly appreciated as a mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed score keeping at the Sandusky Speedway while her husband, Jim, was the flagman. After the races, they enjoyed entertaining fellow racers at their home. She cooked and served at Lake Wilmer Inn and Woussickett Golf Course over the years. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, sculpting, knitting and caring for her many dogs and cats. They spent winters at their home in Florida; where they made more fiends. She followed many Cleveland and Ohio State sports teams. Most of all she enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Lynda (Rick) Finneran of Sandusky; son, Dave (Gwen) Kelley of Sandusky; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; daughter-in-law, Kim Kelley of Vermilion; son-in-law, Joe Fresch of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, James L. Kelley in 2017; daughters, Candace L. Kelley in 2013 and Jacqueline Fresch on March 1, 2020; son, Daniel J. Kelley on July 26, 2020; grandson, Chris Crittendon and brother, Bob Brown.
Private family services will be held at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Marilyn's grandson, Rich Finneran will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Bloomingville Cemetery, Oxford Township, OH.
