Shirley Ann (Rieter) Schwanger, 87, residing in Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord Sunday evening, October 11, 2020 at The Meadows at Osborn Park.
Shirley was born on December 10, 1932 in Fremont, OH to the late Vern and Colleen (Burton) Rieter.
Shirley was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Sandusky Elks Lodge. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, golf, selling real estate, serving at the Erie County Humane Society and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her son, Tom (Rebecca) Schwanger of Sandusky; grandchildren, Nicole (Nate), Josh and Jesse (Jackie); great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jayden, Neah, Ashton, Peyton, Isaac and Kyren; great-great grandchildren, Aniya, Jayce and Jaiyana; sister, Nancy Chapman of Huron and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Rollin Schwanger in 2013 and daughter, Cindy Schwanger in 2011.
Private family services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 315 Wayne St., Sandusky with Rev. Jan Smith-Wood presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
