Oscar Howard Jr. 81, Sandusky, made his transition on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH.
He was born in Waynesboro, MS on March 4, 1939 to the late Oscar and Jessie (Evans) Howard Sr. and attended Smith Hugh High School and Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Mississippi.
Oscar worked for Ford Motor Co. Avon Lake, OH for 32 years before his retirement.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, barbecuing, and spending time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Easter Mae Howard of 13 years; three daughters, Sheila Harrell (Jessie) of Waynesboro, AL, Denise Stanley (Herold) of Luverine, AL, and Pamela Walk of Sandusky, OH; two sons, Darran Howard (Linda) of Waynesboro MS, and Michael Shine (Laquita) of Sandusky, OH; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great- grand children: seven sisters, Dorothy Calvin of Milton, MA, Ruby Howard of Dorchester, MA, Essie Howard of Corona, CA, Anniel McDonald (Clifford), Sandra Howard and Shirley William (Charlie) all of Waynesboro, MS, and Vanessa Blakely (Milton) of Lithonia, Ga; Two sisters-in-laws, Mary Alice Howard of Morrow, Ga and Lee Ernest Howard of Waynesboro, MS; six step brothers and sisters; one uncle, Ernest Hayes of Highland, CA; a beloved cousin, Mildred Thomas of Chicago, IL; Special cousins, Mattie Richards- Irby and Betty Bell of Sandusky, OH and A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Jessie Howard; his stepmother, Mattie Howard; three brothers, William, Barron and Grandver Earl Howard.
Friends may call on Friday, October 23, 2020, from 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The body will be transported to Waynesboro, MS for services on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Waynesboro.
