Brenda S. (Lewis) Newton "Mama Brenda," 71, of Sandusky, passed away on Monday afternoon, October 19, 2020 in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born on August 11, 1949 in Moore's Creek, KY to Emma (Moore) Weinstein and the late Henry Lewis.
She graduated in 1968 from the Ohio School of the Deaf in Columbus, OH and was a longtime factory worker.
In the past, Brenda was a fantastic bowler, bowling in many tournaments and winning some too! She was President of the Elyria & Lorain Association of the Deaf. Most importantly, she was a wonderful and loving daughter, mother, and grandmother.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Emma (Moore) Weinstein, of Hamilton, OH; daughters, Amanda (David) Brown-Newton, of Sandusky, and Lena (Gilberto) Newton, of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Isabella (Andrew), Akai', Dillon, Mario, Kayzden, Brendan, Christopher, Jr., Eloina, Isaiah, and Xavier; one sister; two brothers; son-in-law, Christopher Gonzalez, Sr.; nieces; nephews; and other loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Lewis; and husband, Dennis Newton.
It was Brenda's wish to be cremated. No services will take place. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
