Lloyd Eugene Barcus Sr.

Lloyd Eugene Barcus Sr., 72, residing in Vickery, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 4, 2020 at his daughter's home following a lengthy illness.

Lloyd was born on January 8, 1948 in Mount Vernon, OH to the late Lloyd Elvin and Dorothy Louise (Porter) Barcus.

Lloyd was a police officer for the Perkins Police Department, and also worked security for the Ohio Veterans Home for many years. He retired as a sales associate from the Mattress Company at both the Sandusky and Fremont locations. Lloyd was a member of Faith Memorial Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 83 and the NRA. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching old Western's, shooting and spending time with his family and friends.

Lloyd is survived by his four daughters, Karen (Brian) Bentley of Castalia, Sarah (Dustin Steele) Lucio of Clyde, Rachel (Ted) Firstenberger of Fremont and Emilie (Wyitney Port) Barcus of Anamosa, IA; son, Lloyd E. "Boomer" Barcus of Vickery; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Dan) Artino of Sandusky; brothers, Richard (Molly) Barcus of Norwalk and Joshua (Beth) Barcus of Sandusky; sister-in-law, Janet Barcus of Port Clinton and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kirsten Johnston; sister, Laura Hoover and brother, Paul Barcus.

Friends may call on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 am until the time of memorial services at 11:00 am at Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Rd., Sandusky. Pastor John King will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Clyde. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
