Paul T. Sparks, 93, residing in Milan, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at home with his family following years of declining health.
Paul was born on February 21, 1927 in Dayton, OH to the late Edward R. and Nellie (Rose) Sparks.
Paul was a Veteran of the Navy who proudly served his country during both WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the former New Departure-Hyatt after 40 years of service. He was a member of the UAW, the American Legion and enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and was always available with a helping hand for family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Rita L. (Kramer) Sparks, whom he married on May 1, 1948. He is also survived by his children, Susan Lindenberger of Norwalk, Catharine Barnard of Norwalk, Timothy (Lynn) Sparks of Milan and Thomas (Cindy) Sparks of Milan; seven grandchildren, Amy Lindenberger, Brian, Brent and Brandon Barnard, Hope and James Sparks and Matthew (Megan) Sparks; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Faye) Sparks of Toledo; brother-in-law, Irvin Precht of Toledo and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his son, Paul T. Sparks Jr; sister, Lois Precht and brother, Edward "Dale" Sparks.
Private family services will be held at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory Milan Chapel. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery, Milan.
