Ezell Bailey Smith 76, Sandusky, was born March 7, 1944, in Durant, Mississippi and passed away peacefully on December 7, 2020.
Ezell was raised in Sandusky, Ohio, graduating from Sandusky High School in 1962.
He dedicated 42 years at Ford Motor Company as a proud UAW Local 1216 Member. Ezell is a proud Progressive Lodge No. 85 Mason. He was a dedicated Cleveland Browns fan.
He loved cruising in his '71 Corvette and connecting with his grandchildren. He was so proud of their many accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Zimmerman Smith of Sandusky, Ohio. His four children Michael (Lori) Smith of Sandusky; Mary Smith of Columbus; Zachary (Amy) Smith of Berlin Heights; Shannon (Deon) Fisher of Columbus; his 16 grandchildren, Jessica (James) Belvedere, Brett Fuqua Jr., Brock Fuqua, Teagan Galindo, Rashaad Smith, Chaz Smith, Sophia Smith, Cooper Smith, De'Ondra Fisher, Trinidy Jones, TraVeon Jones, De'Adra Price, De'Ara Price, Tristin Cook-Fisher, Zahara Fisher, Legend Fisher and great-grandson Akye Ahlers. His siblings Betty Simmons, Irma Smith, Herold Smith, Naomi Tyler, Jake Smith, Jackie Smith and Francis Copeland as well as many special nieces and nephews. Ezell was genuinely connected to a host of long-time friends.
Ezell was preceded in death by his parents, Ludie Nalls of Toledo and Naomi (Bailey) Mickens of Sandusky; Brother Nathaniel Sandford Smith of Sandusky; Marianne Goodwin of Georgia; and granddaughter Samantha Lynn Smith.
Private services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020, in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with a private burial at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
