Willie Mae Keys, 76, Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2020.
Willie Mae was born on January 11, 1944 in Anderson, SC to Mattie Clark and James Pickens.
Willie Mae was a daycare provider for nearly 30 years caring for countless children. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion C.O.G.I.C. where she served as the treasurer, usher and greeter. She was active with the Sunday School and Hospitality Dept. She was appointed as Deaconess by the late Supt. Rufus Taylor. She operated in the Ministry of Helps. Willie Mae loved cooking, shopping at goodwill and garage sales; and spending time with family and friends.
Willie Mae is survived by her husband, Nelson Keys; mother, Mattie Clark; children, Deloris Alexander, Evon Alexander, Michael (Cindy) Alexander, Milton (Sherri) Alexaner Jr., Darlene Alexander, Yolanda Smoot, Keith (Tonya) Alexander, Carmella (W.D.) Durrah; sisters Claudine Page, Janine Pickens, Sandra (John) Fennell, Barb and Dorothy Clark, Claudette, Vivian and Deborah (Eric) Kaiser; brothers, John (Pam) Pickens, Ronald (Sheryl) Pickens, Wayne (Mary) Pickens, Willie Jr. (Michelle), Billy Ray Parker; stepchildren, Kenny, Kenya, Orlando and Jasmenda; 33 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a special friend, Catherine Conway and a host of friends and relatives.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Milton Alexander, Sr., her son, Tony Alexander on November 26, 2020; stepfather, Willie Clark, Sr., sisters: Pauline Williams, Wendy Clark and Erin Pickens; grandson, Delano Josh Alexander, great grandson, Roosevelt Alexander, maternal grandparents, Tommie and Hattie Davis, and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call on Saturday, December 5, 2020, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky, where the family will Celebrate the lives of both Willie Mae and her son, Tony Alexander. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
