Jack Stenger, 74, residing in Milan, OH passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at Fisher Titus Medical Center following a brief battle with Covid-19.
Jack was born on May 5, 1946 in Norwalk, OH to the late Jack E. and Mary I. (Ewry) Stenger.
He spent his youth working on the family farm, Ed Stenger and Son. Jack was a 1964 graduate of Milan High School. He was a U.S Navy Corpsman serving in the Vietnam War. During his service he was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart.
Jack retired from David Price Metal Services in Norwalk as an estimator and Project Engineer in the summer of 2011. He enjoyed bowling at many of the area alley's and was very active with the Junior Bowling Association for many years, he also enjoyed traveling, living life and spending time with his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife, Gail (Rumsey) Stenger, whom he married on June 30, 1984; his four children, Jeff (Dulce) Stenger of Long Island, NY, Robert Rahrig of Falls Church, VA, Chad Rahrig of Louisville, KY and Tammy (Mike) Boyd of Clarksfield, OH; one sister, Penny (Tom) Mowery of Milan; one brother, Edward (Karen) Stenger of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Due to the pandemic a celebration of Jack's life will be conducted and announced at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions in Jack's memory may be made to Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, 14000 W. St. Rt. 2, Oak Harbor, OH 43449.
