Ernest "Erney" Paul Michel, 96, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, December 1, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Erney was born on October 10, 1924 in Huron, OH to the late William and Martha (Klien) Michel.
Erney was a delivery driver for Esmond Dairy and the Sandusky Register. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and was an avid NewYork Yankees fan. Erney loved his family and was completely devoted to them.
Erney is survived by his daughters, Susan (Jeff) Eier of Sandusky, Patricia (Kenneth) Manner of Sandusky, Donna Dreschel of Sandusky, Peggy (Glen) Schirg of MO and Mary Galindo of Sandusky; sons, Dan (Kathy) Michel of Castalia and Timothy (Janet) Michel of Milan; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Erney is preceded in death by his wife, Carmelia (Hiss) in 2003; son, Richard Michel and his 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. Father Monte Hoyles will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
