Janice Jean Keck, our beautiful super hero went home to Jesus on Thursday morning, December 3, 2020 after an inspirational and valiant fight with cancer.
Janice was born on July 22, 1946 in Canton, OH to the late Charles and Elsie (Thompson) Keck.
She never lost her wicked sense of humor throughout this journey, to say that she will be missed is an understatement. Janice was truly a super hero, but like all super hero fights, sometimes the villain wins in the end. As far as "losing" her battle, we believe she considered it the biggest win ever, closing her eyes here on Earth and opening them to see her Savior.
Janice was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing card games, especially Euchre and Gin. She did not like to lose, as evidenced by anyone who sat beside her, could expect bruises. Janice loved God and her family more than anything, and was so proud to be so "young" to have 14 great-grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her 4 daughters, Rebecca (Greg) Wade of Sandusky, Karla Gabbert of Summerville, SC, Rhonda (Pastor Greg) Cooper of Alto, MI and Michelle (Mike) Branch of Richville, OH; grandchildren, Kristen (Nathaniel) Enderle of Huron, Kasey Davis of Canton, Cody (Faith) Callahan of Castalia, Michael (Katie) Gabbert and Terry (Ashley) Gabbert both of Charleston, SC, Ashley, Jenna, Alyssa and Zane all of Alto, MI; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Bev Watson of Alliance, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Keck in 1961.
The family would like to thank Dr. Amy Reese and everyone at the Seidman Cancer Center for their love and support throughout these tough few years.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1810 E. Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastors David Hixson and Greg Cooper will officiate. Janice will be buried by her mother and sister on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at North Lawn Cemetery, Canton, OH. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to Janice's memory may do so to Calvary Baptist Church, c/o Building Fund, 1810 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Brightside Church, 8175 Broadmoor Ave. SE, Caledonia, MI 49316.
