Diane Marie (Shinsky) Baum, 77, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Wednesday morning, December 23, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Diane was born on December 15, 1943 in Wakeman, OH to the late Raymond and Evelyn M. (Benson) Shinsky.
Diane graduated from Western Reserve High School in 1961. Throughout the years she had worked at the Sandusky Mall and the Sheraton Hotel. She enjoyed cooking, feeding the neighborhood critters, but mostly she enjoyed giving her love and attention to her grandchildren and family.
Diane is survived by her husband, Gerald C. Baum Sr., whom she married on August 18, 1962. She is also survived by her son, Gerald C. (Marcy) Baum Jr. of Sandusky; grandchildren, Brinden, Madison and Gavin Baum; brother, Neale (Pat) Shinsky of San Diego, CA; goddaughter, Brenda (Beatty) Sellnow of West Palm Beach, FL and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by sister, Lois Jean Cokley and brother, Lloyd A. Shinsky.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron with burial to follow. Chaplain Mel Sayler will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
