Gene Duden, 90, residing in Sandusky, passed away suddenly early Saturday morning, January 9, 2021 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Gene was born on March 6, 1930 in Sandusky, OH to the late Oscar and Elsie (Retzel) Duden.
Gene graduated from Sandusky High School in 1948. He retired from the Commercial Printing Co. in 2004 after 46 years as a pressman. Gene was a Veteran of the U.S. Army who proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Sandusky and the Korean War Veterans Association. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed remodeling his homes, walking and exercising, and spending time with his family and friends.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Tim) Jeremay of Huron; son, Robert Duden of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Rachel (Roger "RT") Chambers and Todd Jeremay; two great-grandchildren, Colt and Eva; many special friends in his neighborhood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Groves) Duden in 2017; step-father, Joseph Wiper; three brothers, Walter, John and Richard Duden; and two sisters, Helen Hanmore and Ilene Burlovich.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Fr. Brian Wilbert presiding. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
