Kenneth "Ken" A. Johnson Sr.

Kenneth "Ken" A. Johnson Sr., 82, residing in Castalia, passed away late Thursday evening, January 14, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Ken was born on July 27, 1938 in Sandusky, OH to the late Harold Francis Johnson Sr. and Lila Ann (Lieb) Johnson Bouy.

Ken graduated from Sandusky High School in 1956. He was a Veteran of the US Army. Ken retired from Delphi after 24 years of service. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Sandusky AMVETS Post #17, the American Legion Post #83 and the UAW Local 913. Ken enjoyed watching NASCAR, boxing, horse racing, working in the yard and gardening, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra (Grubbe) Johnson, whom he married on April 29, 1961. He is also survived by his daughter, Renee (Jeff) Laws of Sandusky; sons, Gregory (Catherine) Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, Gerald (Mary Anne) Johnson of Hudson, OH and Kenneth (Dawn) Johnson Jr. of Berlin Heights; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Rachel, Brian, Andrew, Jillian, Caleb and Briana; brothers, Robert Johnson of Sandusky, Harold "Tut" Johnson Jr. of Castalia, Eugene Johnson and Larry Johnson both of Sandusky; sister-in-law, Karon Johnson of Huron; brother-in-law, William (Julie) Talbot of Bellevue and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by brother, Allen Johnson; in-laws, Theodore and Margaret (Demma-Grubbe) Talbot; step-father, Norman Bouy and sisters-in-law, Carole and Maureen Johnson.

Private family services will be held at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Deacon Jeff Claar will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
