Rebecca Ellen Prophet Choate, 63, residing in Centennial, CO, and formerly of Sandusky, went to be with her Lord, Monday, January 11, 2021, at her residence. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and dedicated follower of Christ.
She was born one of fifteen on December 2, 1957, to the late Lawrence and Gladys (Alexander) Prophet in Sandusky, OH.
She gave her life to the Lord while attending East High School, where she later graduated and met her husband of over 40 years, Michael Choate. Rebecca was a member of World Harvest Church for 30 plus years, where she actively paid tithes and participated in many activities, continuously displaying her love for Christ. She was a lover of the arts and took delight in celebrating all joyous occasions such as holidays and birthdays. Her Christmas cookies were always a popular favorite amongst her friends and loved ones. Rebecca, who was most commonly known as Becky, will be most remembered for her selfless acts and kind nature.
Becky leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her two children Yavonna (Demarius) Prophet Monegan and Jeremey Prophet. Her oldest granddaughter, Todae' Monegan, Chyna Monegan, Devonte Monegan, Destiny Monegan, and Adonis Monegan. Her great-grandchildren Johonez Flowers, Hendrix Wright, Caden Hairston, Winter Hairston, and Kikyo Monegan. Her sisters Linda (Jessie) Prophet Hayes, and Karen Prophet. Brothers Derrick (Dionne) Prophet, Tommy (Amdiel) Israel, David Prophet, Kenneth Prophet, James Prophet, Brian (Annette) Prophet, Peter Prophet, Christopher (Donna) Prophet; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sister Rachonn Prophet McClendon, Brother Steven Prophet, Rodger Prophet, and Lawrence Prophet Jr.
Friends may call on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St, Sandusky, from 10 A.M. until time of private funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
