Donald "Don" Edward Miller

Donald "Don" Edward Miller, 90, a loving and devoted Christian, was called home on Monday morning, January 25, 2021. He passed away at home in Huron surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born on November 28, 1930 in Uhrichsville, OH to the late George and Mildred (Weaver) Miller.

He graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1948. Following high school, he attended and received his bachelor's degree from Ohio University, where he was captain of the football team and continued his education, receiving his master's degree from West Virginia University. Don was a Veteran of the US Army who proudly served during the Korean War. He was an athletic coach, teacher, principal and superintendent at various Ohio Valley school districts. Don was a member of the OHSSA Board for many years. Don was a member of Castalia UCC and the Castalia Lions Club. Being a handy man of all trades, Don enjoyed taking on projects, was a skilled gardener and an avid sports fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Jean (Hill) Miller, whom he married on March 29, 1956. He is also survived by his four daughters, Hope (Doug) Nottke of Huron, Barbara (Jack) Falfas of Winter Garden, FL, Becky (Mike) Nelson of Huron and Margie (Bill) Roll of Huron; grandchildren, Brock (Jenna), Alissa (Jason), Jeff (Victoria), Margaret, Grant, Mallory, Samantha (Bryan), Stephanie (Jon) and Sarah (Charles); nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick (Edna) Miller of Grants Pass, OR and Bob Miller of Gnadenhutten, OH and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jennifer Miller and brother, Bill Miller.

A private family funeral service will be held at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastor John Paputza of Castalia UCC will officiate.
