Jodie Alan Grimes, 62, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, February 6, 2021 at his home.
Jodie was born on December 10, 1958 in Cleveland, OH to the late Myron Joseph and Berdella Ann (Huntsman) Grimes.
Jodie earned his high school diploma while serving the Air Force. He received his associate's degree from Owens Community College and his certification in biomedical equipment technology. Jodie was a manager at OE Meyer for 28 years. He was past president of the Mad River Harley Davidson Hog Chapter and a flag bearer for the Nation of Patriots. He was also a member of the AMVETS, VFW, American Legion and the Elks. Jodie was an avid sports fan, played in various pool and golf leagues and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Jodie is survived by his wife, Michele (McGregor) Grimes, whom he married on March 11, 1992. He is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer Grimes, Tracey (Brad) Nesbit and Jami (Danté Shipp) Wedeman all of Sandusky; grandchildren, Bryana, Evie, Matthew, Tatum, Cain and Danté Jr.; great-grandchildren, Thoryn and Cambria; brothers, Gary (Sandy) Hartzel and Rod (Jennifer) Grimes; nephew, Chad Grimes and his children, Jaylen and Natalia; sister-in-law, Marla (Barry) Roll and their boys, Bryan (Katelyn), Brandon and Bryce (Celeste) and numerous other relatives.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 am. Pastor Phil Gardner will officiate.
