Charles "Charlie" E. Osborn

Charles "Charlie" E. Osborn, 81, Sandusky, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at his residence.

He was born on August 19, 1939 in Sandusky to the late Howard and Beatrice (Cutcher) Osborn.

Charlie was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving from 1958-1962.

He was a law enforcement officer for the Sandusky Police Department for 22 years, and was police chief for the Village of Castalia for 8 years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky, the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, Amvets Post 17, Sandusky, Knights of Columbus, and the former Orioles Club. Charlie was an Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan, loved to watch NASCAR and travel.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Andres) Osborn, to whom he married November 26, 1980; daughter, Tamara Barnes of Iowa; adopted son, Mark Morris, Sandusky; grandchildren, Shane, Cheyenne, Gabrielle, and Keith; sisters, Marian Perry of California and Beatrice Adcock, Sandusky; best friend, Robert "Bob" Runner; his little dog, Spud; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Horn; and three brothers in infancy.

Friends may call on Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 3-5 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 A.M. in the funeral home with Deacon Jeff Claar officiating.
