Columbus Wade "Candyman" Sadler

Columbus Wade "Candyman" Sadler, 84, departed this life on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in Kingston of Vermilion.

He was born February 28, 1937 in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Wilbert Sadler and Helen (nee: Green) Thompson.

Peep (aka Pete) as he was known, relocated to Sandusky at a young age with his mother, and was enrolled in Sandusky City Schools. He left Sandusky High School early to join the United States Marine Corps.

After his service years, Pete was employed with Farrell Cheek and the U.S. Steel Mill. He was an avid lover of cars. Pete loved fishing daily with his Sister-Cousin Cat and listening to his favorite Blues music. He was known for his style and swag being dressed from head to toe in his suits and furs, which he loved as much as dancing. He was the greatest storyteller of days-gone-bye.

Pete is survived by his daughter, Donna Herrin and special son-in-law Kevin "Catfish" Herrin, Sandusky, son, Kevin (LaShawn) Huff of Lorain, Step-son, Michael "Mike" Culbertson, Sandusky. Seven grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; Special Cousins, Cathreen Jones, and Sylvester (Kym) Green, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; Special friends, Henry Moore, Adele Brown, and Helen Buriss.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Douglas Thompson; Sister, Marian Ralph Abrams; significant cousins, James "Jimmy" Green, George Brownlee, and David Jones; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call on Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon, in Toft Funeral Home and Crematory, 2001 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Eulogist is Minister Howard Carr of Harvest House, Sandusky.
