Dewey Sibert

Dewey Sibert, 95, a resident of the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky passed away peacefully Friday, March 12, 2021 at his residence of natural causes.

Dewey was born March 14, 1926 to Daniel and Harriet (Hensley) Sibert, in Manchester, Kentucky.

He served in the United States Army in 1951 and was retired from the Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially frog gigging with his nephews Denver, Gary, and Josh Tucker. He was a member of the Venice Road Baptist Church and Faith Church, both of Sandusky. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by one daughter, Belinda Sibert Biemler (William); two granddaughters, Jessica (Neidler) Barnhart and Rachel Neidler; one grandson, Ryan Neidler; five great grandchildren, Katelynn, Seirrah, Timothy, Jayson, and Christopher Barnhart; two great great-grandchildren, Ava Rene and Amia Marie Swander; two sisters, Myrtle (Ned) Tucker of Bay View and Ruby (Gerry) Batesole of Sandusky; other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marie (Andres) Sibert; one daughter, Carol Marie (Sibert) Neidler; his parents, Daniel and Harriet (Hensley) Sibert; five sisters, Minerva Smith, Lillie Weaver, Anna Lee Lewis, Mary Finley Smith, and Dollie Sibert; and five brothers, Homer Sibert, Howard Sibert, Berton Sibert, T.J., and Edward Sibert.

Friends may call from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 19, 2021 in the Faith Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
