Wayne "Turk" Majoy

Wayne "Turk" Majoy, 75, residing in Huron, passed away late Tuesday evening, April 6, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

Wayne was born on November 5, 1945 in Sandusky, OH to the late Dominic and Ada (Clements) Majoy-Hoilman.

Wayne graduated from Huron High School in 1965. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. He worked in law enforcement for 32 years, and retired from the Erie County Sheriff's Department as the executive officer. Wayne was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2529, AMVETS Post 17, Huron Eagles and the Norwalk American Legion Post 41. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, riding his motorcycle, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family, especially at his kids' and grandkids' sporting events.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betsy (Rhodes) Majoy, whom he married on December 20, 1969. He is also survived by his daughter, Amy (late husband, Rich) Wennes of Huron; son, Robert (Shelly) Majoy of Summerfield, NC; grandchildren, Drew, Kailee, Gavin and Halle; four sisters, Helen Keegan, Mavis (Frank) Triana, Anna Hardy and Patti (Paul) Blodgett; five brothers, Dominic "Tike" (Agnes), Dan, Joe (Bonnie), Kenny and Richard (Dana) Majoy and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Teague and brother, Ray Majoy.

A private family memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Father Jeffrey McBeth will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to invite extended family and friends for a luncheon at the Huron Eagles Club, 2902 Cleveland Rd. W. on April 24, 2021 at 12:30 pm.
