Nancy Helen (Dye) Notestine

Nancy Helen (Dye) Notestine, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away after a brief illness Friday, April 9, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born on August 29, 1933 in Marietta, OH to the late Howard M. and Helen V. (Flading) Dye.

Nancy attended Sandusky High School, and then worked as a nurses aid at Erie Care and Providence Hospital with over 30 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, having tea with her children and grandchildren, and cooking meals for her loved ones. Nancy was constantly surrounded with love from her children and grandchildren, which she cherished the most.

Nancy is survived by her 7 children, Janet (Thomas) Runner, Debra (G. Roy) McMillon, Nanette (David) Reel, Howard Notestine (Sandra Fassaro), Julie (Richard) Gorbach; sons, Donald (Laurie) Notestine, and Steven Notestine; 18 grandchildren, Kenneth (Tonya) Runner, Beth (Brandon) Hartz, Daniel (Nicole) Runner, Roy (Ronny) McMillon, Sara (Douglas) Lippus, Brian (Kristen) Notestine, Kelley (James) Dillinger, Alex (Erica) Notestine, Mark (Amy) Davis, Dustin (Laura) Davis, Ryan Davis, Nicholas Davis, Joshua (Aimee) Gorbach, Joseph (Jill) Gorbach, Patrick Fox, Brycen Notestine, Corey (Devin) Gilbert, and Brooke Gilbert; 28 great-grandchildren with one due in May; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys and Mary Dye; special nephew, Ralph Schmidt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Notestine in 2008; sisters, Carolyn Harris and Mary Martin; brothers, Clarence, Howard, Charles, and David Dye; and great grandchild, Gabriel.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 9:30 am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky OH. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, OH.
