Ethel Mae Fenderson

Ethel Mae Fenderson, better known as Mae, 78, Sandusky, died Monday July 5, 2021 in Majestic Care of Whitehall, Whitehall, OH.

She was born September 23, 1942 in Laurel, MS to the late Thomas Quincy Brown and Ola Mae (Bolton) Brown Fenderson.

Mae was a family oriented person and met no strangers. Mae was very friendly, loved dancing, and spending time with her close friends. Mae was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on the usher board. She loved helping people and her church family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, grandsons, Joseph Gary Fenderson and Curtis Anthony Fenderson of the Philippine Islands; sisters, Ann Fenderson, Sandusky, OH and Debbie Fenderson, Decatur, IL; brothers, Curtis Fenderson, Killeen, TX, James Thomas Fenderson, St. Louis, MO, and Jessie Lee Fenderson, Sandusky, Ohio, a very special great-niece whom Mae helped raise like a daughter, Heaven, her husband TyRell Kendrix and their two children that Mae loved dearly, Kingson and Royal; special great-nephews Kyree Brown and Jonsaya Mosley; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mae is preceded in death by her parents, her son and only biological child, Joseph "Joe Joe" (Gemma) Anthony Fenderson; step-father, James Fenderson; two sisters, Vanessa Fenderson and Mae Rena (Fenderson) Mosley; and four brothers, Warren Fenderson, Charles Fenderson, Quincy Fenderson, and Walter Lee Fenderson.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce Street, Sandusky, Ohio. Rev. Clayton Howard will officiate. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio is handling the arrangements.
