Eddie (Chopper) L. Williams, 72, Sandusky, passed away, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born on July 4, 1949 in Sandusky to the late Walter and Ruthie (Farris) Williams Sr.
Eddie was a part of Sandusky's sensational "Monsters of the Seaway" 1965 SHS football team, attended West Virginia University where he was MVP in the 1969 Peach Bowl.
He retired from New Departure Hyatt/Delphi where he was chaplain for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Rose M. (Durr) Williams; children, Richard L. (Roslynne N.) Williams, Rebekah S. (Joseph C.) Magee, Dathan E. Williams, and Justin E. Williams; grandchildren, Audri M. Johnson, Ketarah L. Johnson, Jazmyn C. Magee, Dathan Williams, Brevan J. Williams, Amondre M. Williams, Jadon C. Magee, Jushawn W. Williams, Damius Williams, and Kalel Williams; great-grandchildren, Dominique R. Clardy, Dallas R. Clardy, Kaziya J. Johnson, Kaliyah R. Johnson, Legend Williams, Messiah Williams, Jonsai Williams, Aus Williams, and Milaya Williams; brother, Steward (Ellen) Williams; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John N. Williams, Walter Williams Jr., George L. Williams, and Linda E. Williams.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Eagles Nest Church, 2126 Pipe St., Sandusky. Bishop Robert Jones will provide the eulogy. Private family burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
