Donald G. "Pops" Bango, 70, Sandusky, went home to a better place, Monday, January 23, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born on August 19, 1941 in Sandusky.
He worked for People's Dairy, Esmond Dairy, Babcock Dairy, and Ruggles Ice Cream, and then for Barnes Nursery, and Bailey's Tree and Landscape. Don later worked for Muirwood Village until his illness.
He loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan (Lysinger) Bango; daughter, Bonnie (Jeff) Segee, Sr.; step-daughter, Faith (Gary) Orman; grandchildren, Jeffry (Hollie) Segee, Jr., Michael (Krystal) Segee, Harmoni, Destiney, Jaiden, Mariah, and Lilly May; step-grandchildren, Brad Orman, Sean (Koren) Orman, Adam (Nicole) Orman, Aydin and Braylin; brothers, Bobby Bango, Charles (Kathy) Bango and Glen (Patty) Bango; sister, Darlene (Jim) White; stepson, David Stieble; former wife, Doris Garton; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd "Bud" and Millicent (Nutzki) Bango; sister, Judy Bango; grandparents; aunts; and uncles.
Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 4-8 P.M., and on Friday, Jan. 27, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Philip Gardner and Vicar Sharon Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
