Alice "Judy" Sabo, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, August 12, surrounded by family.
Judy was born in Superior, Colorado. After high school, she joined the Navy and worked at the Naval Station hospital in Great Lakes, Illinois. She left the Navy to marry and moved to Sandusky. Judy worked for many years at the Plum Brook Country Club and then retired after many more years working at the Sawmill Creek Resort. She was a hard worker and fiercely independent. She enjoyed being in the sun, flower gardening, shopping, leopard print, following the news and watching Lebron James.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose (Atencio) Chavez, and father, Max Chavez both of Denver, Colorado and also her 9 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Butler of Huron, Lorraine (David) Haerr and James (Lisa) Sabo of Sandusky; grandchildren include, Julia (Paul) Semeia of Huron, Justine Butler of New Jersey, Lauren (Andy Elsner) Lochotzki of Newark, Ohio, Meredith (Chris) Tunez of Miami, Florida, Michael (Sherri Fox) Lochotzki, Carly Sabo, and Natalie (Tyler) Dix all of Sandusky. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren who brought her great joy, Everett and Miriam, Lincoln, Ronen, Luke, Theo and Cecilia, Michael, James and Jett.
The family would like to thank Stein Hospice for their care and consideration and the staff at Admiral's Point for their thoughtfulness and professionalism.
A private family memorial service will be held at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Deacon Jeff Claar will officiate.
