Dewey G. Miller, 83, residing in Milan, passed away early Thursday morning, August 19, 2021 at Continuing Healthcare of Milan following a brief illness.
Dewey was born on January 30, 1938 in Jonesborough, TN to the late Robert E. and Lena Roberta (Miller) Miller.
Dewey was a US Marine who proudly served his country from 1958 to 1961. He retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad after 20 years of service. Dewey was a family man, and enjoyed cars and being in the outdoors.
Dewey is survived by his sons, Joshua Miller and Trent Miller; grandson, Tyler E. Hoffman; sister, Teddie (Roy) Gamez and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to him parents, Dewey is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Ali Finley Westgate; son, Tillmon Miller and sister, Joy E. Verble.
A graveside service with Marine military honors will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 in Sand Hill Cemetery, Castalia. Pastor Wally will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
