James D. Thomson age 62 of Bellevue passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at the Bellevue Hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1940 in Lakewood, OH. He was the son of the late John A. & Dorothy J. (Fitch) Thomson.
James was a retired detective for Huron County Sherriff's Department. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bellevue and the National Sherriff's Association.
He was a creative thinker, holding many patents. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered for his unique sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Sue (Lodge) Thomson whom he married June 19, 1987 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, daughters; Jamie (Ed) Beamer of Attica, Tracy (Chris) Bordner of Attica, Jennifer Marie Thomson of Bellevue, Grandchildren; Mallory, Korbin, Bryler Beamer and Brooke & Lucas Bordner, sisters; Colleen (Mike) Miller of Marion, Vicki (Dave) Rakestraw of Virginia Beach, VA, and Darcy Horvath of Wooster.
In addition to his parents his grandson Keegan Beamer preceded him in death.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 from 4 - 8 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 285 W. Main St., Bellevue. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery.
