Willene "Billie" R. (Short) Pifer, 89, residing in Sandusky, peacefully passed away Friday morning, August 20, 2021 at Parkvue Health Care Center.
Billie was born on September 3, 1931 in West Unity, OH to the late Harold and Anna Marie (Meyers) Short.
Billie graduated from Hilltop High School in West Unity, OH. She worked for the police department lost and found at Cedar Point, and also alongside her husband, Alan, as a bookkeeper at the Alan Pifer & Company. Billie was a member of the Business Women of America and volunteered for many years at Firelands Hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge, and participating in multiple eyecare missions to other countries with VOSH-Ohio.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Marcy (Gary) Uhl; sons, Mark (Cathy) Pifer, William (Jacki) Pifer and Paul (Jamie) Pifer; grandchildren, Matthew Pifer, Kimberly Pifer, Justin Uhl, Ryan Uhl, Jeremy Pifer, Kevin Pifer, Daniel Pifer, Ashley Kinnamont and Benjamin Pifer; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Billie is preceded in death by her husband, Alan E. Pifer in 1997; sisters, Gwen Short and Sharon Miller, and brother, R. Stanford Short.
A memorial service will be held and conducted at a later date. Inurnment will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
