Charles Cotterill III, 87, Huron, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born in Bellevue, OH on July 31, 1934 to the late Charles and Ruth (Newton) Cotterill II.
Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was employed by Tenneco for 37 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Sports Cars of America, visiting the Liberty Aviation Museum, he was an avid car enthusiast enjoying anything car related, fishing, animals, music, polka dancing, reading about history, outdoors and birds, watching his grandchildren in their band concerts, and sharing his sense of humor at family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Cotterill; his children, Denise (Patrick Phillips) Ralston, Charles Cotterill IV, Julie (James) Horvath; Patricia's children, Don (Kathy) Reddaway, Mark Reddaway, Mike Reddaway, and John (Karen) Reddaway; grandchildren, Anthony, Christine, Brittany, Derek, Marlene, Michael, Katie, Joey, Danny, Emily, Natalie, and Stephanie; several great-grandchildren; sister, Alice (Richard) Grabarczyk; brother, Howard (Becky) Cotterill; several nieces, nephews,; and his special four legged companion, Maddy
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
