Louis H. Zorn

Louis H. Zorn 92 of Sandusky passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 19, 1928 in the same family farmhouse, of nearly 150 years, to Albert and Dora (Scheid) Zorn, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1946.

Lou worked on the farm his entire life, although he was so much more than a farmer. He was the company pilot and salesman for Milan Steel Co. as well as a salesman for A.V. Lake Construction Company. He was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Union Corners where he served on the council for many years, was Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, sang in the choir for over 70 years, and served on many committees. He was past president of the Central Erie Supply and Elevator Co.. Past President of the Sandusky Area YMCA, on the board of trustees at the Sandusky Yacht Club, Past President of the Heyman Historical Society, and a member of the Erie Ottawa Airport Authority. Lou belong to the masonic lodge # 239, Milan and was Past Master and District Deputy Grandmaster of the 16th district.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sherri Zorn, Laurie (Todd) Christman, Four Grandchildren, Nate Harlan, Rachel (Mark) Geissbauer, Emily (Nick) Masters and Claire Christman. Four great grandchildren Lindsay, Chloe, Jake and Grace. Several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Dora Zorn, his wife of 66 years Norma (Herge) Zorn, three brothers, Karl (Betty), Willard (Mary Jane), Harold (Joan), and two sisters Dorothy (Bill) Judson, Margorie (Hal) Hoerig.

Lou enjoyed keeping up with the family farm where family and friends were always welcome. He learned to fly and taught us to reach for the clouds. He bought a boat and gave us our love of the lake. He tended the earth and showed us how to do the same with family. Words cannot encompass the life and meaning of his man.

A Celebration for Louis and his wife Norma, who passed away on March 23, 2020 will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 10 A.M. until time of memorial services at 11 A.M. in St. John's Lutheran Church, Union Corners, 106 Scheid Rd., Sandusky. Rev. Stacy Lauer-Scovanner will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Union Corners or Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
