Ruth Ann (Thompson) Tackett

Ruth Ann (Thompson) Tackett, 78, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, September 27, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Ruth was born on August 12, 1943 in Sandusky, OH to the late Charles and Natalie (Raab) Thompson.

Ruth was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. Ruth enjoyed baking, canning, quilting, sewing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 59 years, Troy Tackett, whom she married on May 2, 1962. She is also survived by her daughter, Helen (Raymond) Richards of Karnack, TX; son, Kurt (Candice) Tackett of Sandusky; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her son, Troy L. Tackett in 2017; twin sister, Mary Ann Rapp; sister, Debbie Van Meter; brothers, Tim Greulich and Charles Thompson in infancy.

Friends may call on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

In lieu of flowers, Ruth would wish for all to bring a stuffed teddy bear to the visitation to be donated to the Police Department for the children of domestic violence.
