Ruth Jean (Kastor) Henry

Ruth Jean (Kastor) Henry "Jean", 95, of Sandusky passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at her daughter's residence in Saline, Michigan.

She was born January 23, 1926, to the late Howard C. and Blanche (Niece) Kastor. Jean was a 1943 graduate of Sandusky High School and was a member of the high school band.

She married William R. Henry, from Milan Ohio on August 2, 1947, in Sandusky and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1994, after 48 years of marriage. Shortly after marriage they moved to Birmingham, Michigan until they retired to Sandusky in 1990.

Jean was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sandusky, and a former member of the Sandusky Business Women's Club, The Women's Civic Club, and the Sandusky Jayceettes (the wives of Jacees). She was a bonded notary public, legal secretary, and held a Michigan real estate license. Jean spent thirteen years as a volunteer for the Firelands Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Lynn and son-in-law, and Jeffry Kermath; her beloved three granddaughters, Kailey, Kermath, Nikki Kermath, and Sydney Kermath; her brother W.H. "Ted" Kastor, and special nephews and their wives, Theodore and Denise Kastor, Dave and Linda Kastor, and Dan and Michelle Kastor; nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and grandparents.

It was Jean's request to have an intimate graveside service with her family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
