Edward "Butch" William Parker Jr. 77, Sandusky, died Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his residence, and is now in full flight to be in the presence of God Almighty.
Edward was born to the union of Edward W. Parker Sr. and Mattie Lee Winfry-Parker, in Sycamore, Illinois on May 31, 1944. He later moved to Sandusky, Ohio with his mother and stepfather, Earl "Tops" Thomas, where he resided until his death.
Edward married his wife Barbara Ann Nickelson-Parker on February 14, 1985, and leaves her to cherish his memories and now fly solo without her kindred spirit.
Edward served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He was then employed by New Departure (Delphi) and retired from Delphi after 39 years of service. Edward was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and had served as an usher. Edward loved sports and was also loved to shoot pool, but most of all he Loved his family.
"Butch" is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Parker; children, Brandon (Daniella) Parker, Louisville, KY, their children, Branderra Parker, Jatice Massey, Daneshia Rice, Diamond Pearson and Dania Parker; Djenne (Darrick) McKinney, Louisville, KY, their children, Brittani Parker, Brianna Parker, Bria Marshall and Nicholas McKinney; William Parker, Sandusky; Angel Parker, Sandusky and her children, Indya Love Miller, Toby Miller II, (Toby Miller I): special grandson, Spencer Edward Parker-Gordon (Tawain Gordon); godson, Anrico Cunningham Sr.; Siblings, Earlean Thomas, Eric Thomas and Debbie Oglespy; close cousin, Richard Winfry; a host of special family, friends and loved ones, also Brenda Abrams-Parker, and step-mother, Marian Gantt-Parker of Sandusky, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward W. Parker Sr. and Mattie L. Winfry-Parker and sister's Sandusky, Brenda Lee Parker and Angela Bailey-Murray.
The family would like to thank Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Vivek Abhyankar, MD and his medical staff, Southern Care Hospice Services and everyone in the community who went that extra mile to assist our Dad and Husband in any way.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home and Crematory, 2001 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Friday from 12 P.M. Noon until time of funeral services at 2 P.M. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce Street, Sandusky. A celebration of his life at the American Legion, 3615 Hayes Avenue, Sandusky, will be held immediately following the funeral until 10:00 p.m.
