Phyllis J. Benner, 102, of Sandusky died Thursday afternoon, February 2, 2012 in the Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born September 21, 1909 in Macedonia, Ohio. Phyllis graduated from Macedonia High School and attended the Kent State University for two years. She was employed by the J. C. Penney, Co. for 20 years, prior to her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sandusky.
She is survived by her close friends: Barbara Wendt, Larry & Betty Fitzpatrick, all of Sandusky, and other friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Walter E. Benner in 2002 and her parents: Frank & Ovida (Herbert) Jenkins.
Friends may call Monday, February 6, 2012 from 9:30 AM until time of funeral at
10:30 AM in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. Bob Machovec will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM Monday in the Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery, Northfield, Ohio.
