Wesley A. Justi, 100, of Monroeville passed away peacefully Monday, October 18, 2021, in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born December 8, 1920, in Erie County to the late Alvin and Alma (Rohrbacher) Justi and was a graduate of Sandusky High School.
Wesley served in the Navy during WWII and was stationed in Algiers. Following his discharge from the Navy, he attended night school and received a certificate in electronics. This was a skill he was able to use over the years, fixing many types of old electronics for area families. He retired from the Sandusky Ford Plant and following his retirement he enjoyed gardening and became well known for his delicious strawberries. He also volunteered at Habitat for Humanity. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served on the council. Wesley was a life member of the Sandusky VFW, a member of the Milan American Legion and the Norwalk Eagles.
He is survived by two sons, James (Fatima) Justi of Sandusky and Jeffrey (Kristi) Justi of Berlin Heights; two grandsons, Aaron (Ashley) Justi of Huron and Adam (Jamie) Justi of Pataskala, Ohio; five great grandchildren, Anna Justi, Ava Justi, Paige Justi, Jase Justi, and Grace Justi; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by is wife, Marian O. Justi in 2011; his parents, two brothers, Erlin (Mary Lou) Justi and Robert (Rita) Justi.
Friends may call from 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, October 22, 2021, in the St. John's Lutheran Church, 106 Scheid Road, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Pastor Stacy Lauer-Scovanner will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Serving Our Seniors, 310 E. Boalt Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870, or to Habitat for Humanity, 7602 Milan Road, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
