Daniel J. Beverick, 62, residing in Huron, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 from Covid-19 after 13 days in the ICU at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Dan was born on November 4, 1959 in Sandusky, OH to Thomas D. Beverick and the late Julia K. Casserly.
Dan was a U.S. Army and Ohio National Guard Veteran. He was honorably discharged after serving in Japan, Germany, and Washington D.C. His favorite time was serving in Japan. While here, he and his Colonel climbed the 12,389 foot tall Mount Fuji, and he also enjoyed time with his girlfriend, though he never married.
Dan graduated from St. Mary's Central Catholic High School and was a Varsity wrestler in high school, played football in junior high, and he was a server for Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed the bowling team in early years.
Dan worked at many different jobs over the years. He ended up becoming a security guard at places such as Cleveland and Toledo, the Sandusky Mall, and Cedar Point. It fit his Army training and seemed to be the best for him. Dan was quick witted and had a dry sense of humor.
Dan is survived by his father, Thomas D. Beverick of Sandusky; brother, Tim (Kate) Beverick of TX and their children, Tom (Genevieve) Beverick, Erin (Damon) Sylvester, and Kathleen (Alex) Ramos; brother, Ron (Melissa) Fetter of VA and their son, Louka; brother, John (Tracie) Fetter of Sandusky and their children, Chase, Caylee, Cross, and Crew; sister, Lori Kennedy of Sandusky and her children, Addie and Boston; sister, Dr. Michele (Ed) Nolan of Sagamore Hills, OH, who provided incredible leadership and guidance during this trying time; sister, Jennifer Crosby at home in Sandusky and her children Jonah Crosby and Daniela Roman; sister, Suzanne (Darren) Johnston of Sandusky and her children Kevin Armstrong and Kara (Ari) Gitlitz; and numerous other relatives.
In addition to his birth mother, Julia, Dan is preceded in death by his stepmother of many years, Rose (Ody) Beverick and his brother, William R. Beverick.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky with Rev. Philip S. Feltman presiding. The family has requested that everyone please wear a mask. Burial will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
