Isabella Maria Castillo

Isabella Maria Castillo, 77, of Castalia passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born September 13, 1944, in Kindsbach, Germany. She came to America in 1965 after meeting the love of her life and husband of 57 years, Allan Paul Castillo. She initially settled in Connecticut and moved to Castalia Ohio in 1981. She became an American citizen on August 8, 1988, but she cherished and held dear her German heritage.

Isabella loved to cook, and you could rarely escape a visit without carrying home a to-go container of her special spaghetti sauce. She was a professional homemaker who cared for her family and home with abundant love and made Sunday's and holiday's very special for her family. Her presence filled the room, and she always kept everyone laughing and content. She will be Greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Allan Paul Castillo; three children, Michael Allan (Lori) Castillo, Monique Maria Castillo, and Eric John (Millie) Castillo; six grandchildren, Dominic and Mason Castillo, Christian Orshoski, Nicholas Byington, Olivia Vogus, and Gabrielle Castillo; two sisters, Ursula (Saum) Muller and Irmgard (Saum) Willi Stamm; two beloved sisters in law, Veronika Saum and Marliese Saum, beloved in laws, Kenneth and Laurel (Castillo) Barron Jr, Howard and Carolyn (Castillo) Neckin, and Richard Castillo, nieces, nephews, and other relatives in both Germany and America.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dominique A. Castillo; parents, Georg and Katharina (Anstatt) Saum; two granddaughters, Katlyn Louise Castillo and Kaitlyn Byington; three brothers, Georg Saum, Hermann Saum, and Rudolf Saum; two sisters, Margareta (Saum) Frutigar and Elisabetha (Saum) Fuller; three brothers-in-law; Lee Fuller, David Frutigar, and Werner Muller; her American family and special in laws, Allan's parents, Baltazaar Cruz and Louise Hyacinth (Carruthers) Castillo; and brothers in law, Peter and Barry Castillo and sister-in-law Kathy Castillo.

The family wishes to extend a sincere Thank You to the aids and staff at Stein Hospice for helping ease our family through a most difficult time. With special thanks to Miranda, Mom's case nurse and Kim, Mom's administrative social worker. They always made themselves available to help Mom and assist our family in any way they could, which will always be Greatly appreciated.

Intimate services for the family have taken place.
