Sharon A. Ellington, 73, residing in Sandusky, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at her home.
Sharon was born on December 3, 1947 in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Catherine (Bowie) Mathews.
Sharon graduated from Sandusky High School in 1966 and graduated from the Sandusky School of Practice Nursing. She worked at the former Sandusky Memorial Hospital and at Firelands Regional Medical Center for 42 years before retiring in 2010.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Johnnie Ellington II; daughters, Kayla Ellington and Kendra (William) Henkel; step-children, Sherria Page and Branden Page; sister, Carolyn Register; uncle, Charles (Lillie) Bowie; aunt, Mary Harris and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her mother, Sharon is preceded in death by her son, Damone Thomas and special friend, Linda Woods Knight.
Private family services will take place. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
