Virgie E. Phillips Yost, age 76, of Bay View, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday morning, November 25, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
She was born February 22, 1945, in Elcorn, WV, and was a member of Wayside Temple, Castalia, for 53 years.
She worked for Standard Product, Port Clinton, for 19 years and Providence Care Center, Sandusky, for 15 years. Virgie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother; who loved to spend time with her children and especially all her grandchildren. She loved to cook, read, and play solitaire; she instilled a strong belief in the Lord in all her children.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dennis Yost; two daughters Valerie (Mark) Kochensparger, and Lilly (Mike) Flynn; embraced son and nephew David (Brenda) Sparks; step daughter Brenda (Charlie) Trust, step son Dennis (Nancy) Riley; loving grandmother to Amber, Jordan, and Kaylee; and great grandmother to Peyton, Makenna, Liam, Rylan, Charlotte, Abel, Phoebe, Cohen, and many other great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Bonnie (Hogston) Phillips; and 6 sisters; and 1 brother.
Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Wayside Temple 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia, OH 44824. Pastor Rusty Yost will officiate and burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.
