Jack W. Cheetham, 71, of Sandusky, passed away on Sunday morning, December 5, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center, after experiencing complications from a recent appendectomy, exacerbated by dementia
He was born on July 15, 1950 in Sandusky to Margaret (Angello) and the late Clyde Cheetham.
He was a 1968 graduate of Sandusky High School and received an Associate's Degree from Terra Tech. He retired in 2006 after 30 years as a Tool & Die Maker for the former New Departure/Delphi in Sandusky.
He was a member of U.A.W. Local #913, and a lifelong member of the former St. Paul Lutheran Church of Sandusky. Jack was an avid model car collector. He enjoyed making others smile with his jokes, impersonations, and being the clown. He'll be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marianne (Rengel) Cheetham, whom he married on June 24, 1972; daughter, Elaine Cheetham, of Sandusky; son, Christopher Cheetham, of Powell, Ohio; mother, Margaret (Angello) Cheetham, of Sandusky; sister, Marta Cheetham, of Belleville, MI; many loving in-laws; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends; and his cat, Spankie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde, in 2010.
At Jack's request, cremation will take place. Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 9 from 3-5 P.M. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Ken Hiser will lead a memorial service at 5 P.M. Memorial Contributions may be made in Jack's name to The Sandusky Rotary Club Charitable Fund, c/o P.O. Box 717, Sandusky, OH 44871; Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky; or to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St., Sandusky.
