Nancy Ann (Daugherty) Keller

Nancy Ann (Daugherty) Keller, 88, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday evening, December 6, 2021 at the Meadows of Osborn Park.

She was born on November 5, 1933 in Sandusky, OH to the late Gordon and Florence (Mead) Daugherty; the youngest of seven sisters.

Nancy was a graduate of Sandusky High School in 1952. She met her husband James while she was working at Ohio Bell Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator and he as a PBX installer. They were married on May 26, 1956 in Sandusky, Ohio. Nancy also worked at Memorial Hospital as a Switchboard Operator and Registration Clerk. When Memorial and Good Samaritan Hospitals merged, Nancy worked in the registration department at Firelands Regional Medical Center for many years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, and crocheting hats for those in need at Christmas time. Nancy was a past member of the Hospital Guild at Firelands Regional Medical Center and a current member of Sally DeForest Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a past officer of the American Kennel Club, working at many Sandusky dog shows and puppy matches. She even showed one of the family Irish Wolfhounds Garth in dog shows along with her daughter, Colette. She leaves behind a family dog, Abby, and cat, Milo.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Nancy David of Swisher, IA, Colette Honaker of Stedman, NC and Amy Keller of Sandusky; her step-daughters, Judith Bakewell and Jacquelyn Wechter of Sandusky; grandchildren, Dr. Lawrence Honaker, PhD, Wageningen, Netherlands, James Honaker, Stedman, NC and Meganne David (Darrin Lowery-grandson-in-law), Sandusky; step- grandchildren; John Spoa Jr. of Sandusky, Tracy (James) Harris of Milan and Leanne Schlottag. Nancy is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Juliet Lowery, Sandusky; her Goddaughter/niece, Nancy Wallace of Florida as well as other step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, James Keller in 2002; her six older sisters; step-daughter, Jerilyn (Ralph) Alderman and step-grandson, Mark Keller.

Friends may call on January 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial services at 11:00 a.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate. Burial will be held in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
