Carol E. (Riedy) Marksbury, 86, residing in Monroeville, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 18, 2022 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Carol was born on July 7, 1935 in Sandusky, OH to the late Victor and Esther (Mantey) Riedy.
Carol graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1953. She had previously worked at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky; Mona Ami in Catawba Island; was a homemaker from 1958 to 1987 and then worked for Daniel's Basement Waterproofing in Berlin Heights. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Monroeville. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Bellevue. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She especially loved singing with the St. Mary's choir.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Victoria (Joseph) Marksbury of Sandusky and Andrea (David) Marksbury-Weisenberger of Norwalk; sons, Timothy (Christine) Marksbury of Huron and Matthew (Jennifer) Marksbury of Amherst; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her son, Robert Norman Marksbury; daughter-in-law, Annemarie Marksbury; granddaughter, Samantha Sangster; sisters, Sr. Mary Carolanne S.N.D (Ursula Riedy), Agnes Keegan and Beatrice Riedy and brothers, Cyril, Kenneth, Richard and Gerald Riedy.
Friends may call on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
