Michael D. Ryan, Sr.

Michael D. Ryan, Sr., 79, of Sandusky passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, January 20, 2022, in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

He was born August 29, 1942, in Sandusky.

Mike was employed at Stowe Woodward for thirty-five years prior to his retirement. He had also worked at Cedar Point.

He was a former member of the Sandusky Bay Pool League, loved his model trains and was a former roller-skater.

He is survived by his five children, Tami Ryan-Shope of Nevada, Ohio, Shelley (Steve Borzymowski) Romell of Sandusky, Michael David Ryan, Jr. of Sandusky, Brenda (Jim Hephner) Patterson of Sandusky, and Sarah Brown of Norwalk; nine grandchildren, Carl R. (Michelle) Massey, Heather Massey, Kaylee (Aaron Alexander) Romell, Chelsea Ryan, Austin Patterson, Guy Patterson, Katie Brown, Willow Brown, and Zena Brown; eleven great grandchildren, Miley Massey, Beau Massey, Khiley Massey, Briley Massey, Faith Braham, Dixie Massey, Xavier Sawyer, Ariana Sawyer, Scarlet Massey, Kymora Alexander, and Airee Alexander; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irene (Sanzenbacher) Ryan; one grandson, Kristoffer Romell, three sisters, and two brothers.

Friends may call from 3:00 pm until time of funeral service at 6:00 pm Monday, January 24, 2022, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio. Pastor Harvey Studer will officiate.
