Nancy Lou Bath

Nancy Lou Bath, age 77, of Castalia, died Friday morning, January 21, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following complications from a variety of health issues.

She was born in Sandusky, on February 21, 1944, to Franklin and Dora (Meggitt) Borchardt.

She was a lifelong resident of Castalia, OH and attended Margaretta Schools. Nancy and her husband, Larry, owned and operated Bath's Dog Grooming in Castalia since 1966. Nancy took great pride in her dog grooming business and was very dedicated to her customers, often scheduling appointments at the most random times just to accommodate them when needed.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Castalia, where she also served as custodian for the past 27 years. Her church meant the world to her. She was a member of the American Dog Groomers' Association and the American Legion.

She enjoyed spending summer weekends around the pool with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Nancy is survived by her two children, son Daniel (Julie) Bath and daughter Andrea (Alan) Strause, grandchildren Koren Orman, Anthony and Devan Bath, Allison Patterson, Haylee, Whitney, and Macey Strause, 19 great grandchildren, sisters Peggy (George) Lenyo, Joanne (Mike) Shelley, Diane (Tim) Moore, and Linda (Jeff) Barnette, and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Larry Bath, and parents Franklin & Dora (Meggitt) Borchardt.

Family & friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services at 12 Noon, Tuesday, January 25th, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Margaretta Township Fire Dept, 113 South Ave., Castalia, and to Grace Lutheran Church.
