Stephen A. Kromer, 62, residing in Seven Hills, passed away Sunday evening, January 30, 2022 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Stephen was born on August 1, 1959 in Sandusky, OH to the late Robert Joseph and Joan M. (Avery) Kromer.
Stephen worked as a Railroad Engineer. He enjoyed his beloved dog, Ginger Gerta, his Koi pond and hiking through the metroparks. He especially loved antique cars and trucks and collecting Sandusky memorabilia. His greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughter, family and friends.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Deborah (Grasela) Kromer, whom he married on September 1, 2018. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Lauren (Tony) Dew of Parma, OH; granddaughter, Freiya Dew; sisters, Kathryn (Gene) Goff of Sandusky, Susan (Debra Wright) Kromer of Honolulu, HI and Wendy (Scott) Schell of Sandusky; brothers, Thomas (Dana) Kromer of Dublin and James (Mary Jo) Kromer of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Zach Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Stephen's family would kindly ask to please consider wearing a mask while attending Stephen's visiting hours and funeral mass.
