Jonathan C. Trent, 54, residing in Clyde, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Jonathan was born on September 5, 1967 in Sandusky, OH to the late Alta M. Trent.
Jonathan graduated from Port Clinton High School and attended Terra Tech. Jonathan began working at Meijer, where he met his future wife, Cathy. He then was employed at Lear in Huron, before becoming a dimensional metrologist in the CMM lab at Precision Automotive in Bellevue for over 20 years. Jonathan was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde. He loved music and played the bass guitar, he loved animals, especially his cats, Smokey and Tuxy, and he always enjoyed spending time with his family and church family.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Cathy (Young) Carpenter-Trent; brother, David (Cherie) Trent of FL; niece, Victoria Barnes; nephew, Jacob Trent; brothers-in-law, Randy (Ronette) Skaggs of Sandusky and Pete McCreery of Marblehead; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Harvest Baptist Temple, 1022 S. Main St., Clyde. Pastor Allen Holmes will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
